Katerina Kersey is a Czech contemporary painter, interior architect, and designer whose work combines fine art with a strong sensitivity to space, light, detail, and feminine aesthetics.
Her paintings focus primarily on abstraction, emotion, and the energy of color. She sees her artworks not merely as decorative elements, but as a natural part of a space and its atmosphere. Working with acrylics, oils, pastels, and metallic pigments, she creates depth, luminosity, and subtle shimmer. Her distinctive style is characterized by the contrast between calm and energy, layered compositions, and expressive yet harmonious color palettes.
Kersey studied goldsmithing and silversmithing at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Turnov and later interior design at the Florence Design Academy in Florence. Her background in architecture and interiors strongly influences the way she approaches proportion, composition, materials, and the relationship between an artwork and its surroundings.
Her paintings have been exhibited in the Czech Republic and internationally, including in Florence, Venice, Bratislava, Berlin, and Paris.
In her current work, she is further exploring the connection between art and design through her upcoming brand Silensia, transforming motifs from her paintings into fabrics and original fashion pieces. Her vision is for art not only to become part of a space, but also to accompany women, emphasize their individuality, and inspire beauty, confidence, and the courage to shine.
Her work is rooted in the belief that art has the power to transform not only the space around us, but also the way we experience it – and ourselves.
