Adam Jilek

Adam Jílek, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, has worked across multiple studios ranging from classical painting to the restoration of historical artworks. He represents a strong voice of the contemporary young Czech art scene and, despite his young age, has developed a distinctive visual and conceptual style.

The central motif of his work is animal figures imbued with human characteristics and emotions. White dominates his compositions, symbolizing calm, purity, innocence, but also emptiness. The narrative unfolds primarily through facial expressions and penetrating eyes, where emotional tension is concentrated. Animals—often overlooked throughout art history—become the main carriers of meaning in Jílek’s work, frequently infused with subtle satire.

His artworks are included in numerous private collections across Europe. In 2019, he was selected by Forbes magazine for its prestigious “30 Under 30” list of young Czech talents. That same year, he collaborated with fashion designer Beata Rajská on a summer dress collection presented at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. He also created an exclusive series of paintings for Jaguar dealer Best of British Cars to mark the company’s anniversary.
